This session addresses deep-rooted racism in Canadian long-term care homes and highlights three key arguments: the persistence of racism, various forms it takes, and the need for more education. This issue significantly affects the psychological safety of healthcare professionals. Our project focuses on bridging gaps in understanding racism's role in resident-worker relations in care settings for older individuals. Specifically, we aim to enhance critical racial sensitivity, humility, and education through resident-focused programs. Join us in contributing to a more inclusive LTC environment by fostering education and awareness around these critical issues.
