Jānis, an OAA licensed Architect, is Director of Architectural Services at Extendicare. For close to two decades, he has been practicing in the realm of person-centered design and construction both in architectural offices and as client representative. From healthcare planning and design to educational and institutional projects, he has focused his efforts on improving the lived experience of the users of the built environment. At Extendicare, he works with in-house teams and external consultants to establish and continuously improve the design language of the homes that our current and future residents will inhabit. Outside work, being passionately interested in the force of education, Jānis volunteers his time to the United World Colleges movement.
