An enjoyable mealtime experience is central to person-centered care and resident quality of life. Progressive diseases often cause dysphagia and a decline in one’s ability to communicate. During mealtimes, this makes it challenging for staff who provide mealtime assistance to identify a resident’s enjoyment of a meal. In this workshop, participants will experience micro-learning activities that recreate an experience provided to staff at Sunnybrook’s Veterans Centre via the ‘Goldilocks Project’. Participants will take away practical tips on how to do this at their own community and leave inspired to try something similar with their staff.
