Description

Canada’s older adult population continues to grow and become more culturally diverse. This presentation will go over the need for culturally inclusive practices for diverse older adults in Long-Term Care homes in Canada, specifically related to menu planning. This presentation will emphasize the role of food and culture on maintaining overall health and enhancing quality of life for culturally diverse older adults. Considerations for menu development and barriers and facilitators to menu planning for culturally diverse residents will be covered in this presentation.
