Shirley Drever began the role of Clinical Medication Safety Specialist with Sienna Senior Living in June of 2023 focusing on the development and implementation of resident safety initiatives from Health Care Aid/Personal Support Worker Medication Administration to Comprehensive Diabetes Management for front-line team members. Prior to beginning her new role she was project manager for the Strengthening Medication Safety in LTC initiative at the Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada where she supported the development and review of Model Policies for Medication Management and facilitated workshops on Incident Analysis in Long Term Care. Shirley is also credentialed as a Certified Diabetes Educator. She brings over 30 years of experience in the LTC sector as a pharmacist specializing in quality and clinical care initiatives and has a passion for quality improvement to drive the safety and quality of life for all residents.
