Hassib Barakzai is the Director of Resident Programs at Deerwood Creek Community, where he has been dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors for nearly two years. Beginning his journey as a recreation aide, his passion for people and meaningful engagement quickly led him to his current role. Hassib finds immense joy in working with seniors and values the privilege of making a positive impact in their lives. His dedication has opened doors for meaningful change, particularly in fostering a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Through his own lived experiences and the stories shared by the seniors he works with, he recognises the profound importance of creating an environment built on love, respect, and dignity.
