The flex schedule model aims to increase full-time opportunities and improve work-life balance for PSWs by incorporating 12-hour and 8-hour lines. The consistent assignment model aims to improve resident-staff relationships and care quality by assigning PSWs to provide intimate care for the same residents each shift. Both models aim to enhance job satisfaction and engagement, to reduce staff turnover, absenteeism, and agency reliance. While their specific goals differ, their implementation follows the same change management principles. This session shares the implementation strategies used by Schlegel Villages and presents key evaluation findings of their impact on staff and residents.
