Stronger Together: CAMH TIDES–Sienna Education Partnership
Description
CAMH’s Trauma-Informed De-Escalation Education for Safety and Self-Protection (TIDES) partnered with leaders and staff from Sienna Senior Living (SSL) to tailor the program to the needs of a Sienna community. The program builds staff skills in preventing and responding to responsive behaviours using a trauma-informed approach to de-escalation and self-protection. Through simulation and hands-on practice, teams learn how to assess situations early, reduce escalation, and preserve resident dignity while supporting staff well-being. This partnership highlights how collaboration across sectors can strengthen behavioural health care, improve workplace safety, and build long-term capacity.
