Name
Supporting Relational End-of-Life Dementia Care
Description
Due to the taboos of death and fears associated with mortality, open discussions about death and dying are often avoided. This is particularly true in the dementia context, where understanding of what people living with dementia desire at the end of their lives is limited. This workshop explores what relational end-of-life (EOL) care looks like from the perspectives of people living with dementia, family members, and professionals. Participants will be introduced to a relational EOL framework and then engage in group discussions to explore practical ways to strengthen relational EOL care for people living with dementia, their families, and the professionals who support them.
