Dr. Christina DeRoche

Born and raised in Guelph, Ontario, Dr. Christina DeRoche began her journey with a passion for education, initially aspiring to teach in primary schools before discovering her true calling in research and leadership. After completing her Master’s degree at Western University, Christina and her husband relocated to North Bay, where she joined the Research Department at the local hospital and began her path toward senior leadership.
She went on to earn her PhD in Sociology from McMaster University, working within an interdisciplinary environment alongside the School of Family Medicine and the School of Rehabilitation Sciences. Christina’s research interests focus on women’s and children’s health, mental health, and strengthening community-based service models for families.
Before becoming the Director of the Research Centre at a local college, Christina served as a Manager at the local children’s treatment centre, where she oversaw rehabilitation programs, led evaluation initiatives, and provided strategic direction to senior leadership teams. She continues to advance her leadership education and serves as Vice-Chair for a local child-welfare organization.
Beyond her professional achievements, Christina is a devoted wife to her husband Michael of 20 years and a proud mother to their two energetic children, Anthony and Alessandra.
