In recognition of the multifaceted experiences and changing needs of long-term care residents, families and staff across the province, Family Councils Ontario (FCO) sought to improve its internal and external functions. The creation of the Diversity, Inclusion and Equitable Representation Advisory Committee (DIERAC) has been pivotal in integrating EDI within FCO’s programming. This work has also reinforced the need for authentic engagement and partnership to enhance the sector. This session will spotlight DIERAC’s inception, contributions, and co-creation of the “I Belong, You Belong, We Belong” framework for embedding EDI into organizational principles and practices. Presenters will be joined virtually to discuss the journey by members of the DIERAC!
