Deborah worked as an executive in seniors’ care for 11 years, and during that time she became a resident’s family member three times, with her husband, mom, and dad. In 2018 she established THINK Breakthrough Inc, and has dedicated herself to transforming and enhancing the relationships between residents’ families and seniors’ care teams, from leadership to direct care staff. Her business solutions include consulting homes with admission process redesign, staff training and family education programs. She has worked with many of the leading seniors’ care organizations across Canada, including profit, not-for-profit and municipal homes. Deborah is the author of two books: RECIPE for Empathy and Now What? written for staff and families in seniors’ care, and is the host of The Empathy Exchange podcast.
