Leadership within a retirement community is a second career for Claudia; she was an elementary-aged schoolteacher before she began her journey at Christie Gardens in 2010, where she started out as the admin assistant to health services. She has since held several roles from pioneering the first Neighbourhood in the Courtyard Community, to undertaking oversight of all three Neighbourhoods as a Director.

Her current role as Director of Education and Staff Development has her overseeing the Christie Academy which includes specializing in executive team development, recruitment, retention, mediation, and sector-specific education. Claudia’s main goal is to see staff are valued, empowered, and appreciated so they, in turn, will be healthy and passionate about serving the residents who call Christie Gardens home.
