Bio
Narendra Deonauth is a TIDES Specialist working at CAMH. Narendra holds a Master of Education degree (M.Ed) from the University of Toronto - OISE, an advanced diploma in behavioural science from George Brown College, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree from the University of Toronto (specializing in Neuropsychology, and minoring in Ecology and Evolution). Narendra has been working at CAMH for the past 9 years. From 2016 to 2020, he worked as the behavioural therapist on an inpatient mental health unit specialized in providing care to males with complex mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, who also presented with high risk for aggression. During this time Narendra was also responsible for supporting the clinical team with their safety related needs through the TIDES scope. Narendra formally joined the TIDES team as a specialist in 2020 where he has been involved in various TIDES projects such as TIDES at UHN, TIDES for Geriatrics, and currently TIDES for Sienna Senior Living. He has a vested interested in promoting safe spaces for both care providers and receivers, thus tries to encourage staff to use the TIDES approach in their day to day work. When he is not at work, Narendra loves nothing more than playing with his 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son!
