Katie Hodgson is the Manager of TIDES (Trauma-Informed De-escalation Safety/Self-Protection) and Community Education at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). With over 20 years of experience in mental health and developmental services, Katie began her career as a Developmental Service Worker and progressed into leadership roles, specializing in person-centered programs and community integration for individuals with complex needs.
At CAMH, Katie became one of the first female Safety Education Specialists, playing a pivotal role in co-leading the development and implementation of the TIDES program, which integrates trauma-informed care into safety education. Now, as Manager, she oversees the system-level customization of TIDES for healthcare and community partners, tailoring educational plans to meet the unique needs of diverse organizations.
Katie is dedicated to improving safety outcomes for staff and patients through innovative education while advancing trauma-informed care as a cornerstone of clinical practice.
