The Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) and the Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA) invite members, thought leaders, researchers, innovators, and Business/Commercial Partners to submit their proposals for Together We Care 2027 — Canada’s largest forum for long-term care and retirement communities. Background

The seniors' care sector is entering one of the most significant periods of change — and opportunity — in its history, as demographic trends accelerate demand for years to come. 

TWC 2027 brings together leaders from across the sector and beyond to showcase bold ideas and practical solutions that strengthen workforce development, enhance resident quality of life, and improve operations, planning, and integration — laying the foundation for a more connected and resilient care system for today's seniors and generations to come. We're inviting abstracts on programs that worked, lessons learned, innovations worth scaling, and partnerships that made a difference. 

TWC 2027 Programming Streams 

Our program will focus on the following five key programming streams: 

Workforce Capacity for the Future: This stream explores strategies, innovations, and policies that strengthen workforce resilience, support staff well-being, and build the leadership and talent needed to ensure the long-term viability of the sector. 

Quality of Care and Quality of Life: Highlights quality improvement initiatives and strategies, including optimizing the utilization of data and processes to enhance the resident experience and quality of care overall. 

Operational & Governance Excellence Across Organizations: Highlights operational strategies for a proactive approach to enhance efficiency, productivity, resident/staff satisfaction, etc. 

The Future of Seniors Care: Highlights new ideas, innovations and strategies that will shape the future of seniors’ care. 

Culinary and Nutrition: Highlights new ideas, innovations and strategies that will augment the culinary experience. 

Note: Proposals must focus on practical, educational content and measurable outcomes, not product promotion or sales.  

• Registration Opens:  Monday, November 16, 2026 

• Call for Content applications close:  Tuesday, December 1, 2026 

• Applicants notified of the decision: January 2027 (date subject to change) 

• Selected Speakers to register by:  Monday, February 15, 2027 

• Confirmed Speakers to submit final presentations by:   Monday, March 29, 2027 

• Together We Care Convention and Trade Show: April 5-7, 2027
